Are you your own worst critic? I mean, you know you have a great life with so much to be grateful for, but…

You constantly get mad at yourself for not doing what you know you should do…

Your inner dialogue is full of negative self talk…

You pick yourself apart in the mirror…

…And then judge yourself for not being more accepting of yourself.

If you do any or all of the above, you’re not alone.

It’s easy to get down on yourself when you’ve done enough self work to know how you’re “supposed” to be…(patient, loving, accepting)…and then you don’t show up that way.

What’s WRONG with me?

Here’s the mistake I find most people are making that keeps them stuck in the cycle of self-criticism:

We think that our intolerance for how we’re showing up will motivate us to be better, try harder and do what we think we’re supposed to do.

We don’t want to condone or “accept” things as they are because we perceive that if we do, we’ll never have the motivation to change, things will really get out of control and we’ll lose all progress we’ve made.

But here’s the thing. Criticizing, judging and being intolerant of where you’re at is NOT motivating change.

All those things do is hold your healing hostage and prevent you from being the authentic, inspiring, congruent light you’re really here to be.

And if you know you’re here to help more people, then that just won’t do.
