I never used to be able to stop eating. If something tasted good – a bowl of cereal, a scoop of peanut butter, a slice of bread, I wanted more.

It was as though something else took over after that first bite, making it impossible for me to just have a serving.

Even if I wasn’t even hungry to begin with!

I’d come up with some justification in my head…

You’ve been so good today!

You’ve been giving everything to everyone else – you deserve this!

Just have it already so you can stop obsessing on whether or not you should have it.

It’s just a little bit. It’s not that bad.

I’ll start tomorrow.

You’ve already blown it so just go for it.

I don’t care. I’ll deal with the consequences later.

This is my only treat!

Or I wouldn’t think of anything at all. I’d just find myself eating without really remembering how it started.

Have you ever had a similar thing happen?

…intending to just have a bite and winding up eating the whole thing…

…eating when you’re not hungry, and not stopping when you get full…

…justifying why i’t ok this time…

Or not even thinking at all?

If you can relate, then I want to share what it took for me to truly guilt free from all that.

(When I say free, I don’t just mean ‘I’m on a good run of sticking to my plan’…I mean that I no longer eat when I’m not hungry and I stop eating when I’m full. I enjoy food but I don’t obsess about it. I feel intuitively guided by what to eat and experience food as nourishment. Enjoyble nourishment.)

Because for me getting free didn’t come from all the usual default strategies…

…or any other “food focused” approach.

All that stuff did was give me this false sense of success for a few days or weeks, followed by yet another failed attempt and more embarrassment, frustration and shame.

(In my opinion, if you’ve struggled with your relationship with food for any length of time, you’ve already hit your lifetime quota of embarrassment, frustration, and shame.)

Which is why I want to share what it really takes. Or at least what it really took for me and the folks I have an opportunity to work with:

Getting to the root of what’s driving you to fill up on food in the first place.

I’m not just talking about feeling lonely, or being stressed, or stuffing your feelings or living your life for everyone else and never taking time for you.

Those are all symptoms of what’s really going on.

What’s really going on is the underlying discomfort and dis-ease that’s driving you to see ease and comfort in food in the first place.

To find out where this comes from and get some quick tips to start addressing it right away, click here to watch last week’s Facebook Live where you can read the comments or catch the video on Youtube here.

At min 14:45 I reveal what drives this internal discomfort and dis-ease in the first place

At min 19:16 I talk about what it takes to have an internal sense of ease and comfort so food can be nourishment instead of our source of comfort

At min 25:19 I give you some quick tips to get you on the path of living congruently right away

Here’s the thing, I spent decades trying to fix a problem with food that I didn’t fully understand with an insufficient solution. And that kept me running in circles, feeling like a fraud and being perpetually ashamed and hard on myself.

If you suspect you’re at that place yourself,  trying to fix a problem with an insufficient solution and going in circles, then firstly, I acknowledge you big time. It takes a lot of courage to admit that what you’re doing is not working.

And, if you’re open to discovering a way that can have you living free from food addiction and obsession – where you can enjoy food but not turn to it for comfort and fulfillment, then I would love to help you have just that.

If that is something that calls to you, schedule a call on my calendar and I can help you get clear in just a few minutes on exactly where to start and what to do to to get on your path of true, lasting freedom.

P.S. I used to hate it when I’d hear people telling me they had these great results and that I can have them too. Because deep down I didn’t think it was possible for me and I didn’t want to get even more disappointed in myself.

What I came to discover was that I was right! It wasn’t possible the way I’d been doing it.

But once I asked for help, discovered the real solution and got the support that guided me past my blocks and stuckness, I found that all I needed to do take one baby step at a time and trust the process instead of trying to figure everything out on my own.

And one day, I heard my tummy growl and realized that it was lunchtime and I hadn’t thought about food since breakfast! That was a first. I then noticed myself not going to food unless I was actually hungry, and when I got full, I’d actually stop eating.

It was strange and amazing and unbelievable. And the best part was that I wasn’t doing it, managing it or controlling it.

Something had shifted deep within me and I was showing up completely differently with food. This was the freedom I never knew was possible. And this is the freedom I want for you.

If that sounds like something you want too, then schedule a free from food clarity call with me and let’s get you started on your path to having exactly that. xoD
