It’s easy tell ourselves that we’re not affected anyone else with our internal thoughts. But those closest to us can feel us – whether they are consciously sensing it or unconsciously reacting to it.
Others can pick up on it when you are present, engaged and feeling good about you. Conversely, others can also feel it when you are faking it and pretending to be ok when you’re not.
So spend a few moments getting honest with yourself about how your negative thoughts are getting in the way of your relationship with yourself and the world around you.

Are you actually ready to be free from your negative beliefs?
This might sound like a strange question, but those negative beliefs are actually doingsomething for you. They have to be or else you wouldn’t keep defaulting to them. It’s kind of like using food or alcohol or any other addictive pattern.
Sure there is a major downside – like feeling guilty, alone, depressed, down on yourself, ashamed, unworthy or beating yourself up.
But limiting beliefs can also provide a safety blanket of sorts that allows you to hide out in your familiarity zone so you never really have to challenge your beliefs or do something different.
It’s often easier to complain about why it’s not possible to have the life we want instead of taking empowered action for the life we do want.
Limiting beliefs like “it’s not possible for me” or “I’ll fail” or “I’ll just disappoint myself” or “I’ll be judged” make the perfect excuses to justify not taking any action. Then we stay stuck and get down on ourselves for not doing what we know we need to do or being who we know we’re here to be.
And as you’ve heard me say before, the pain and angst of holding back when we know we need to take action will always take us back to addiction. Because it’s just too uncomfortable to feel that incongruent.
