I know that because it’s what happened for me. I used to be up in my head and anxious all the time.
It always felt like there were a so many things to do and I was constantly behind.
I’d put so much pressure on myself to get things done that I would either go into irritation overdrive mode, or I’d just get so overwhelmed that I’d get a case of the “F”-its and get paralyzed.
That’s when food would come in. Food was my way of escaping when everything else felt like too much.
The problem was that it didn’t fix things. It only made them worse.
Because then I’d feel all this guilt and shame – which would give me even more anxiety – and that would prevent me from being productive so then I’d feel even more behind and more overwhelmed.
It was a vicious cycle that I didn’t want to be in but didn’t know how to get out of.
I didn’t think it would ever be different. I thought I’d just have to manage my life that way forever. Which was really depressing and made me not want to be here.
If you have any of those thoughts – wanting things to be different and fearing it won’t be, then I want you to know that it can be different. Not just for me but for you too.
I know we all like to tell ourselves that we’re so different that we’re the one exception to the rule. I used to run that story too. But the truth is. I’m actually not any different from you.
It’s just that I discovered this secret little strategy through my own trial and error. And I want to share that with you.
